Here they are - the bulky vest and the hat/scarf (which was finished just in time; it snowed today!) I recently made for my son. The bulky vest was knit together with Kerrie, who did hers for her little girl in the same yarn but in a different color (check it out here
), and the hat/scarf was knit together with Alison from the blue blog
, who did two of them
for her twin boys in a different yarn and in another colorway with enviable results (check them out here
). For the bulky vest, I used an alternate loop cast-on to emphasize the bumpy yarn, slipped the first stitches on each row after the armhole shaping, sewed the shoulders together using three-needle bind-off, and used a decrease bind-off for the neckline, twisting the stitches to avoid holes.
I really had fun knitting these projects together with some online pals. I'm looking forward to doing it again!
