Beauty secrets revealed! Here's our B-M in the morning
as she looks at the map. [Side fact: I have a truly awful sense of
direction. If you want to make your way around any city B-M, she of
Excellent Sense of Direction, is the person to be with.] |
On our way to Montmartre! |
I love carrousels. |
The next time I come here my boy will ride this carrousel.
Oh yes, he will. |
|
Sacré-Coeur! |
|
|
Rue de la Bonne! |
And here she is. |
Yes, B-M and I did decide to climb up to the dome.
(And when I did I was soooo thankful for all those years of living
in the high altitude of Mexico City.) |
The reward. |
|
See the teeny Eiffel Tower in the background? |
|
After we climbed back down we walked through the neighborhood.
(Renoir, one of my favorite artists, lived in this neighborhood with
his family.) |
If you get this far without managing to get your portrait
sketched or drawn, give yourself five points. |
I took this right after I bought a set of six Botero
postcards. Such a tourist! |
|
|
"Laissez-moi danser..." |
|
Taken after a visit to La Samaritaine department store.
(Which, incidentally, is closing indefinitely due to much needed renovations.
We made it there just in time!) |
After our morning of sightseeing we had a nice lunch
with two of Jackie's friends. |
The inside of Galeries Lafayette, where I controlled
my shopper's instincts and managed to not buy anything. (Okay, I have
one in the city where I live and had done some shopping in it about
a week before my Paris trip. But still!) |
Walking through the Tuileries and enjoying the winter-like
weather in spring. |
