The castle at Beauregard. |
|
The Portrait Gallery with over 300 portraits! We spent quite a
while looking at them all and talking about them. (Yes, Monsieur
Le Hubby and I are both history buffs. One of the reasons we get
along so well together and always have fun on our vacations. Awwwwwww!)
|
Then I found this one in a room all
by its lonesome. |
Another thing to see is the garden at Beauregard. It's
divided into "rooms". |
"The Purple Room"
|
"The White Room" |
This was the first time I had ever seen WHITE lavender. |
"The Black Room" |
"The Pink Room" |
"The Yellow Room" |
|
Back in Blois. |
The Captain on the steps. [Awwwww!]
|
This is the Cathedral. It is right next to the apartment.
(And I mean that literally. From the apartment terrace one can see
inside the bell towers!) |
It also means that every time we go to Blois, we get
peeks of church ceremonies, like this bride heading off to get hitched.
(And boy, did I feel for her. It was over 30 degrees celsius that
day and I bet she was sweatin' in that dress. But doesn't she look
fabulous, darling? We thought so, too.) |
Blois at dusk.
(This is the view from the terrace of the apartment.)
|
Monsieur Le Hubby was blowing off the firecrackers
we bought at the open-air market while I was waited for the JULY 14
FIREWORKS to begin. Right there by the river is where they set them
off. |
And they're off! |
Here are a few shots of just a part of the fireworks
show... |

|
And then Dany Brillant gave a concert
at the bridge. |
(Psst...I was still knitting here and
there!) |
|
I took this as I after a dinner of entrecôte,
green beans, potatos, cheeses and ice cream. Oh, and lots of wine. |
